Congratulations to the UConn Huskies, who defeated the Kentucky Wildcats last night to win their fourth NCAA championship in 16 years. There were so many storylines with UConn’s improbable run: Shabazz Napier’s MVP performance and his comments on the efforts of Northwestern football players to unionize; Kevin Ollie winning a National Championship in only his second year as head coach; and UConn’s place in the American Athletic Conference (AAC), to name a few.
But now is the time to simply celebrate the championship. A rally will be held on campus at Gampel Pavilion this afternoon beginning at 4:30. The rally is free and open to the public.
Connecticut attorney Jason Doucette was kind enough to share a great picture from the end of the game last night.
