SchwappHartford’s Asaph Schwapp Passes Away

Former Notre Dame fullback and Hartford native Asaph Schwapp sadly passed away on Wednesday from non-Hodgkins lymphoma.  He was only twenty-six years old.  Paul Doyle of the Hartford Courant wrote an excellent story on Schwapp, who, according to Doyle, was the first Hartford native to letter at Notre Dame in 65 years.  The Courant also has a nice editorial on Schwapp.
