NFL Draft: Tracking the UConn Huskies

Congratulations to UConn defensive lineman Kendall Reyes, who was chosen by the San Diego Chargers in the second round (49th overall) of the recent NFL Draft.   According to the Hartford Courant’s Desmond Conner, “the last interior lineman drafted from UConn was New London’s John Contoulis, a fourth-round selection by the Giants in 1964.”

Mark Blaudschun of the Boston Globe also has a good story on Reyes.

Although Reyes was the only UConn player chosen in the Draft, receiver Kashif Moore and offensive lineman Mike Ryan will get a look with the Bengals, having signed free agent deals.  Defensive back Gary Wilburn signed with the Titans.  Kicker Dave Teggart has yet to be signed.
