Remembering the Hartford Whalers’ Departure

Monday marked the fifteenth anniversary of the announcement that the Whalers were leaving Hartford.  The Whalers’ departure remains a point of contention, and the possible return of the team remains an area of great interest with Connecticut hockey fans.  In fact, posts concerning the Whalers are among the most popular in the four-year history of this blog.

The Hartford Courant has reached into its archives and republished its articles from this infamous day in Hartford history, including Jeff Jacobs’ story.
