UConn Soccer Players Drafted by MLS

UConn soccer players Andrew Jean-Baptiste and Tony Cascio were selected in the first round of the Major League Soccer (MLS) Draft, by the Portland Timbers and Colorado Rapids respectively.  Matthew Conyers of the Hartford Court has the storyBen Berger has some excellent coverage of the business aspects of the MLS Draft over at Footiebusiness.com.

NFL Post Season Business Issues

NCAA Denies Todd O’Brien’s Appeal

Todd O’Brien, the former St. Joseph’s basketball player who has been denied a release to play for UAB  as a graduate student, had his second appeal denied by the NCAA.  Seth Davis of SI.com has the storyESPN’s Jay Bilas posted his take on Twitter:
