Danbury Whalers Introduce New Head Coach

Last night before a packed house at TK’s American Cafe, the Danbury Whalers announced their new coach for the upcoming season, former team assistant Phil Esposito.  Chris Brodeur of GreenwichTime.com has the story.  Congratulations to Coach Esposito. 

Former USC Assistant Sues NCAA

Todd McNair, a former assistant football coach at the University of Southern California (USC), has sued the NCAA in connection with the penalties imposed upon the USC football program.  McNair, whom the NCAA banned from recruiting for one year, alleges that the NCAA’s misconduct caused him to lose his job among other damages.  Ted Miller has a nice post on ESPN’s PAC-12 blog

ESPN.com’s Elizabeth Merrill has written an excellent article about the 1987 NFL strike and the replacement players.  The article presents a nice change from reading about the present day NFL lockout.
