Sports Business Panel to be Held in Stamford

M.O.D. Success, a networking group for young professionals in Stamford, Conn., is holding a sports business panel on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. at Butterfield 8 (112 Bedford Street).  Panelists include:

Texas Considers Regulating Agents with Felony Charges, Prison

A bill that could lead to felony charges and prison sentences for unethical agents is close to becoming a law in Texas.  Rob Romano has the story on Romano On Sports and Darren Heitner also covers the story on Sports Agent Blog.  Look for my take on the bill next week.

NFL Lockout News

SI.com’s Michael McCann has the latest on the Eighth Circuit’s decision regarding NFL Lockout.  Also, congratulations to Michael, who will be heading the new Sports Law Institute at Vermont Law School.

Sports Concussion Legislation Continues to be Adopted

The State of Maryland passed legislation concerning sports and concussions that has been described as “ground breaking.”   For those wondering whether Connecticut has adopted any sports concussion laws, it has – Public Act 10-62.
