Lower Transfer Fee Opens Pipeline From UFL to NFL

As of December 1, not a single UFL player had made the jump to a NFL team, raising important questions concerning the intentions of two year-old league.  The UFL’s insistence on collecting a $150,000 transfer fee was the obvious culprit.  When the UFL lowered the transfer fee to $25,000 a few days later, the New England Patriots signed Eric Moore, formerly of the Florida Tuskers.  Other teams quickly followed suit, and according to the UFL, 31 players have joined NFL teams or practice squads.

The UFL is now aware that there is a demand for its players, and perhaps more significantly, the UFL knows what the market will bear.  It will be interesting to watch how the UFL will use this year’s experience when determining whether to include a transfer fee clause in player contracts next season.

  1. I’ve been surfing online more than three hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours.

It is pretty worth enough for me. Personally, if all
web owners and bloggers made good content as you did,
the net will be much more useful than ever before.
