Monica Polanco and Alanie Griffin of the Hartford Courant write about Powder Ridge, the ski area in Middlefield, Connecticut, which has been closed for the last three years.  The story looks at the legal issues concerning the sale of the resort and the effort to find a company to operate Powder Ridge.

Michael Vick’s Football Future to be Determined Shortly

Michael Lombardi of the National Football Post opines that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will make a decision on Michael Vick’s future in the league following the conclusion of Vick’s house arrest:

July 20 is the last day of Michael Vick’s house arrest. At that point, it would seem the commissioner would need to make a timely decision regarding Vick’s future in the NFL.  Expect a ruling about three weeks after the house release is over.

An Update on the NFL StarCaps Case

Gabe Feldman , writing on the Sports Law Blog, posted an update on the NFL-Kevin and Pat Williams-StarCaps case:

Today, that Minnesota state court—Hennepin County District Judge Gary Larson— issued a temporary restraining order to prevent the NFL from suspending the Williamses or from subjecting them to “reasonable cause” drug testing until the completion of a trial on the merits.
