Olympic Badminton Controversy
John Mehaffy of Reuters writes that the eight badminton players who deliberately lost matches in hopes of a more favorable draw did not violate the rules of the sport, but rather violated the spirit of the sport. Although most agree that the players were in the wrong, the format of the tournament has also been criticized.
