On Friday I had the pleasure of serving as a panelist at the 2011 Harvard Sports Law Symposium, participating in a discussion concerning the relationship between athletes and agents. The symposium featured some of the most prominent figures in the sports industry and provided excellent discussion and debate on the subject of intercollegiate athletics. The keynote speaker, Sonny Vaccaro, once again delivered an impassioned address for the rights of collegiate student-athletes to share in the revenue they help generate.
Thank you to the Committee on Sports & Entertainment Law and Symposium Co-Chairs Xander Marcus and Dave Kiefer for their hospitality and for organizing a truly outstanding event. Also, thanks to Harvard Law School Lecturer Peter Carfagna, who skillfully moderated the Athlete-Agent panel discussion.
