The Indianapolis Colts drafted UConn’s record-breaking running back, Donald Brown, in the first round, 27th overall in this weekend’s NFL Draft. Brown is the first player in UConn football history to be chosen in the first round of the NFL Draft. Congratulations to Brown and to UConn football, which has taken another step towards becoming a nationally-recognized program.
Two interesting notes concerning the Colts’ choice of Brown:
- The Patriots could have chosen Brown but traded their first round pick twice
- ESPN’s Chris Berman noted that UConn’s pro day attracted more observers that Texas’ pro day
Here’s hoping Darius Butler, William Beatty and Cody Brown are drafted soon.
